Zecharia Sitchin - the middle ground between creation and evolution - which includes "A Creator of All," and a species more evolved than humans called the An.un.ak.ki. ("from Heaven to Earth they came") in Sumerian clay tablets.  There is evidence and a motive for them assisting our species to jump ahead maybe 1/2 to 1 million years of evolution from the ape-men and women stage.
