Of all the amazing stories in Kansas City history, perhaps none is more compelling than that of Trans World Airlines. The airline founded by expert aviators, built through exceptional customer service, cutting-edge technology and an unprecedented loyalty to its employees. Truly the airline of the Stars through much of the 20th Century, TWA called Kansas City home for most of its existence. Today, we get an incredible history lesson from former TWA flight attendant and now historian, Kaye Chandler. She is a walking encyclopedia of the airline's remarkable story. She takes us back to the halcyon days, when air travel was chic and glamorous. When gentlemen wore hats and ties on board, and the ladies donned their finest dresses and jewels. When service wasn't a bag of peanuts and half-cup of coffee. It meant a real meal, prepared by a chef, served on china with silverware. You will not want to miss a minute of this interview.

And she tells us about the TWA museum at the Wheeler Downtown Airport, which is celebrating its one-year anniversary next weekend - May 18th - with food, drinks and dignitaries, included the grand daughter of TWA co-founder, Paul Richter.

It's all TWA today on Everyday KC
