Everyday KC - Street Cars Desired

Street Cars once provided Kansas City a model for mid-sized city public transit. But in the late 50's - a time of cheap diesel fuel - the system was dismantled. The tracks eventually became jogging trails, or simply faded into the dirt. 

Now street cars are coming back, and we are glad to talk about it! We have a citizen champion, Jared Campbell, and Mid-America Regional Council's assistant director of transportation, Tom Gerend, about the upcoming street car initiative in KC.
