Hypnosis Basics… The Erickson Method
Thursday January 30, 2014 @ 1 pm Health Mind & Body radio present our second part of our series on Hypnosis Basics… The Erickson Method.
Milton H Erickson, MD was a pioneer in the world of hypnosis. He created and was founding president of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis and a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Psychopathological Association.
He authored and published more than 3000 papers on experimental hypnosis, brief therapy, strategic family therapy, family systems therapy, solution focused brief therapy, and neuro-linguistic programming. His methods are still being explored and expanded to this day.
The principle is simple, every event that is experienced by the mind, the body and the person as a whole is a learning event. Erickson’s method is about reaching into and joining with or touching the part or problem in a way that is respectful, healing, nurturing and transforming.
The language patterns are open, flowing and based on the individual’s world not the hypnotist’s or whatever the common thoughts are about the inidivual’s problems or challenges.
Join me today at 1 pm and let’s explore The Erickson Method.
