Samson was Israel’s champion against the Philistines. He killed many over the years, but he was often tripped up by lust for foreign women. 

David was a man who killed his tens of thousands of Philistines, including Goliath. God used him to subdue his people’s enemies and lead his nation. But, later he sinned by adultery with Bathsheba and instigated a murder of her husband to cover up an unwanted pregnancy.
