Can families still find solace within the church ?

Finding support within the church is a key element in most people lives. But can this support lead us in wrong decision making. What is the level of faith behind the shared advice? Or should we be asking how well do you know the person giving the solace. So, I ask is Church still a place to go and heal the soul?
