Gospel music is a genre of Christian music. The creation, performance, significance, and even the definitions of gospel music varies according to culture and social context. Gospel music is composed and performed for many purposes, including aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, and as an entertainment product for the marketplace. Gospel music usually has dominant vocals (often with strong use of harmony) with Christian lyrics.

Jason McGee has made a name for himself within this genre and worked with some of the biggest heavyweights in gospel music. Listen in as we discuss the changes he has seen; the current state of gospel music; and the dangers in trying to become too popular. It will be a candid and transparent conversation about a sound designed to inspire and motivate, yet ironically stays under the microscope of judgment and ridicule.
