She founded Connect Learning Centre, an organization dedicated to providing innovative solutions for people who want to lead a more purposeful life. The centre provides attention and patience, teaching basic life skills that help people live more independent lives.
Melanie’s students learn to cook, paying special attention to safety and cleanliness. They learn to read, write and handle money. They exercise and become more familiar with healthy living. They become responsible for themselves.
Melanie is visually impaired, she uses a white cane. She founded Connect Learning Centre based on her own personal experience. She is living proof that anything is possible, as long as there is a dream, a need and a passion.
