For as long as she can remember Ronnie MacCarl has been interested in family history.

For the last 30 years, Ronnie has been an active family researcher and the last 20 years a professional forensic genealogist. For two years, she was the co-coordinator for the Genealogical Research Library in Toronto.

Currently, Ronnie is a freelance researcher who also works as a locator of missing heirs for estate purposes for the Ontario Government. With Jeff Stewart at Northern Horizon Research Associates, they have worked with lawyers, legal professionals and governments from all over the world searching for missing heirs, shareholders and providing court documentation for the distribution of intestate estates.

Ronnie was one of the online instructors and providers of course materials on wills and estates for the National Genealogical Institute in Toronto. She is the author of book: Researching Canadian Wills and Estates (1999) and it is mandatory reading for the Canadian Genealogical Certificate Program. She developed the follow up course material for Canada: Researching Wills and Estates Part 2 which is a collection of case studies and search methods and projects for would be genealogist.

When she is not working on family history and research, she is a Director for MacCarl Business Associates, a company which helps business owners re-engineer, revamp or recreate their business processes.
