In 2009, Susan found herself wondering “Now what?” After a life devoted to family and community service, she reached a timely point to be newly creative in adding something she also truly enjoyed. In visioning her next life stage, Susan was energized by the women she began meeting in Austin and by their own stories of reinvention and success. A personal blog about Susan’s journey through mid-life led to bigger dreams, and Flourish Over 50 was created to inform and inspire women to live abundantly in what she feels is the best chapter of their lives. Susan’s website FlourishOver50.com provides information on topics including style, health & fitness, menopause and financial health. But one of the main focuses is on “self-improvement,” encouraging women over 50 to live by Susan’s philosophy “Dream big and step out on faith.” Locally, Susan hosts monthly events where women come together to connect and learn. This close-knit group of girlfriends is committed to cheering one another on as they live life after 50 to the fullest. Susan’s passion is to inspire women to follow their dreams, giving them the tools and encouragement to have healthy, dynamic lives. “There has never been a better time to be a woman over 50. Our opportunities are limitless as we reach for the stars. Life truly begins again at 50!” Susan is living proof.
