SPSN Spotlight's Elder Yolanda Townsend

Elder Townsend is the eldest of three children. Born to the late Bro. John W. Sanders Jr. and Sis. Velvet Sanders of Anderson, SC. She grew up in the public schools system of Anderson, SC. and accepted her call to ministry on December 29, 1999. 

Currently serveing as the Director of Spiritual Innovation and assistant pastor under Pastor James Perry Jr. of Empowerment Worship Center. She has traveled abroad preaching, teaching, singing, and worshipping the name of the LORD throughout the upstate. Served as the President for parents of Share Early Head Start and on the board of SIC (Student Improvement Council) at Gateway Elementary. Also one of many women to have been inducted into the hall of Professional Women. She has sung on the Ambassador Choir and TMC ensemble at Mt. Sinai World Outreach. She was a lead alto with Dell Barkley and the Carolina Mass Choir. She loves to lift up the name of the Lord through prayer, praise, and worship. Elder Townsend has been blessed to renew her wedding vows on July 14, 2011 to her wonderful friend, lover, and companion, Deacon Christopher L. Townsend Sr. They have been blessed with two children, Christian Tisaiah (8) and Crystal Tania (7) Townsend. God has placed a mandate upon them to open their home to adopt and foster children of the upstate.

She is the co founder of Zeta Alpha Psi Sisterhood: Royal Daughters of the Lion of Judah! A christian sisterhood that was formed to bring the teaching of God's word while building a bond as of a modern day Ruth and Naomi among women. DIVAS 4 Christ Ministries: Divinely Inspired Victorious Anointed Sisters!!! She believes that God wants us to be the Diva HE called us to be, inside and out! Our mission is to "Empower Women, One Sister at A Time!" Her favorite scripture is that of Luke 1:28, "Rejoice highly favored one, the LORD is with you; blessed are you among women!"
