Author of Pocket Mommy, Alia Malik

Aila (pronounced "Eye-La" Malik is an attorney and nonprofit executive working with high-risk youth and a mother of 3 young children. After she solved the problem of toddler separation with her own son by cleverly making him a paper "pocket mommy" to take with him to school -- together Aila and her 7-year old son Zayan wrote the story book, Pocket Mommy, with beautiful illustrations by Vincenzo Lara, in hopes of helping other families solve this challenge.
