Dawn Karima. Dawn is an ordained minister. She serves the Qualla boundary reservation in Cherokee, North Carolina. Dawn earned a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, her Master's from Ohio State University and her doctorate degree from the University of Kentucky. In addition to authoring the books "The Way We Make Sense", "The Marriage of Saints" and "Mother of Nations", Dawn is a two time Global Music Award Winner and a Native American Music Award Winner. She has written articles and content for numerous periodicals. She also wrote for News From Indian Country.
