Have you ever thought of the emotional and physical toll it must be to go in day after day caring for the sick, terminally ill or caring for the dying? Every day you find nurses, doctors, therapists and other professionals in the "trenches" taking care of the needs of individuals to whom they don't know personnally when they enter into care, however, at times will become very involved or even attached, in some way, to their patients before their journey together ends.
How do they cope? What do they do to detach, stay objective and in some cases put their lives back into a balanced perspective? Must they harden their hearts, or are there other coping mechanisms they can use to express emphathy, show compassion and remain objectively professional? Can a lay person use these same tools?
We'll find out from Dr. Martha Libster, PhD, APRN. A licensed clinical psychologist and registered nurse, who has trained nurses, doctors, healers and lay persons on the nurturing of self, patients and nurturing ones own emotions while simultaneously being aware of the importance in fulfilling their divine plan; as the patient is fulfilling their divine plan as well.
Her perspective as a nurse herbalist, professional artist, dancer and healer has assisted her in teaching others to find the BALANCE required to first HEAL THYSELF, CAUSE NO HARM, while blending her psychological knowledge in teaching psychological and holistic tools that can assist the patient, the caregivers and family members in creating a synergistic approach to healing.
Join me August 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM CST as we explore these concepts on Nurturing the Heart a Caregiver, with Physical Tools and Spiritual Fuel.
Until then, have a JOYOUS day!
