It's often a common practice in traditional obstetric care here in the United States for a woman to have a scheduled C-section or induction birth. In surrogacy, however, allowing your surrogate mother to add an elective C-section (one without medical need) to her surrogacy contract, and/or an induction can be a giant and costly mistake for a set of recipient parents.

Currently, online there is a website encouraging surrogate mothers to do just that:  add elective c-sections to their surrogacy contracts. In this episode, Dawn discusses the risks not only medically, but financially, this can pose to a set of recipient parents.
