. Kwanzaa.is a week long celebration held in the United States honoring universal African-American heritage and culture, observed from December 26 to January 1 each year. Ralph Miles Jones III Born in Detroit, he spent 33 years in Los Angeles. A musician, composer, and educator, he earned a bachelor's degree in ethnomusicology at UCLA and an MA in African American studies, with an emphasis in ethnomusicology .
