in•san•i•ty (n) 1 : a deranged state of the mind usually occurring as a specific disorder (as schizophrenia) 2 : such unsoundness of mind or lack of understanding as prevents one from having the mental capacity required by law to enter into a particular relationship, status, or transaction or as removes one from criminal or civil responsibility 3 : extreme folly or unreasonableness; something utterly foolish or unreasonable It’s been said that Americans are a bit crazy. Typically such statements are either said in partial jest, but mostly in seriousness when said by other nations. And it’s true. Many Americans live lives in complete contradiction to reality, and sadly, in complete contradiction to reason. And, over the past fifty years, many Americans are living their lives in complete contradiction to anything that has order, sense or sound mentality.
