Our guest in this episode is Ms. Monica Allison.  After reading about this woman of God, I am calling this episode, “The Strength of a loving Mother.”   This woman is phenomenal.

Monica is the program director at Virtual Tutoring and Mentoring, Inc.  In addition, she is currently President of Cedar Park and President of Pennsylvania Families for Public Cyber Schools.  Lastly, she serves on the board of University City Green and co-chairs their fund development committee.

Monica explains, I had 4 sons, 2 natural and 2 adopted.  My eldest adopted son was murdered on April 7, 2005 by a teenager he didn't even know in South Philadelphia.   I had Allan since he was 10 years old.  He was a friend of my son, they went to school together and he lived down the street from a house I was renting. His natural father was in and out of jail, his mother left him when he was young, and his grandmother who he lived with was trying to take care of his younger brother who was born with physical challenges, and addicted to crack cocaine.  In addition I had 3 granddaughters under 5 at that time that were impacted.

Monica says, I'm not sure that's what happens in these situations. I think you learn to move on, but you never really overcome. I knew I needed to take care of me. I spent time in my bible reminding myself how much I am loved and that God knew what I felt.  I connected with Spiritual Life coaches on line and I knew I didn't have to carry this pain alone. And finally, to journal what I feel without editing.

You really do not want to miss this episode.  This is a story of love, this is a story of inner strength, and this is a story of overcoming the most difficult.  Hear Ms Allison only at Calming the Anger Storms.
