Mrs. South Carolina United States 2018

Mrs. Michelle D. Divina, a local resident of Williamston, SC won the title of Mrs. South Carolina United States 2018.  She is a mother of three (3) beautiful children and is married to Dr. Darius Divina, an orthopedic surgeon practicing in Anderson.

Michelle decided to compete for the opportunity to promote her platform: Healthy Family OutR.E.A.C.H. – Recognition, Education, Awareness, for Compromised Homes. This platform was formed as a result of Michelle’s own personal struggles with and victories over child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness from her past.

Her passion is to reduce the stigma associated with these serious issues that plague families today and bring greater awareness of it to South Carolina, especially since South Carolina leads as one of the percentile of states (95%) leading the nation with Domestic Violence cases.  As an advocate Divina is determined to be a voice, a face, and name, for those who live in fear or who may not know the steps involved to get themselves out of these tumultuous circumstances.
To achieve these worthy goals, Michelle has partnered with several organizations that can help individuals and families move from victims to victors.  Currently, Michelle works as a volunteer with Veterans Affairs, United Housing Connections, and Forever Loved, serves as an honorary board member for Warriors Heart and is an Ambassador for Safe Harbor.
