Lucie Butler- Jr. Miss Heart of MGN:

As a survivor of CDH at birth, Lucie is now a vibrant 12 year old honors student at Dacula Middle who continually gives back to her community. She proudly supports her State Title, Jr. Miss Heart of MGN, which she won for her commitment to volunteering/community service.  She is dedicated to spending the rest of her life raising funds & awareness for CMN and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), the amazing hospital that saved her life!   At the age of 2, Lucie was asked to become an official Children’s Miracle Network Kid and spent a whirlwind year promoting CMN. As a Miracle Kid, she was invited to participate in UGA Miracle’s Dance Marathon, supporting CMN & CHOA. That event changed her life! She spends a great deal of every year preparing & fundraising for Dance Marathon! Last year Lucie raised almost $3,000.00 for CMN through Dance Marathon and raised over 1500.00 this year!! She received the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award for volunteering over 112 hours last year. Through her platform “Lucie’s Lights of Love”, she hopes to brighten the life of the NICU patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta by donating handmade blankets, Beads of Courage and her special “Love Jars”.

When not spending time at school or volunteering, you can find her on the Cheer mats practicing her high flyer skills for her team The Hebron Hornets or Acro dancing at NGDMF.  She also enjoys reading, photography and road trips with her family.

Lucie has persevered through the rough times and is making an impact on our world! God definitely has bigger plans for Lucie than anyone knew at her tumultuous birth.
