Polygamy in 2016? Seems the reality show "Sister Wives" is bringing this act of polygamy into conversation simply because the five (5) spouse reality show, have people mimicking this lifestyle of cohabitation. Polygamy and bigamy are illegal in the U.S. but because of this reality show it goes on in Utah anyway. So four women consider themselves the wives of one man.

Bigamy is when someone legally marries more than one person, while polygamy is when someone has one legal spouse or one or more co-spouses he's married through some sort of spiritual marriage that's not legally recognized by the state.
