Sound Money and Money Lending

Regarding Money Lending

Proverbs 22:7:  The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.

Romans 13:8:  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law.

Regarding a Debt Based Monetary System

John Adams  “All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise, not from defects in their Constitution or Confederation, not from want of honor or virtue, so much as from the downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit and circulation.”

Thomas Jefferson  To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. I place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared.

Daniel Webster
We have suffered more from this cause [paper money] than from every other cause or calamity. It has killed more men, pervaded and corrupted the choicest interests of our country more, and done more injustice than even the arms and artifices of our enemy.

*********

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:10
