Will the U.S. Supreme Court Same-Sex marriage ruling criminalize Christianity and endanger pastors and Christians all over America?

Rev. Bill Owens, president of the Coalition of African-American Pastors (CAAP) is refusing to let that happen and is calling for opposition to the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling through active civil disobedience.  Rev. Owens is stressing that Christians, “do something to get arrested to call attention to the injustice."

The request for a new Christian Civil Rights Movement has been called for by Rev. Owens and other Christian leaders and faith community because of the ongoing threats to faith leaders and and Christianity.

Of grave concern is that pastors had been the target of gay-rights activists due to their sermons concerning the Bible’s stance against gay marriage. To prevent that in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott signed the “Pastor Protection Act" on June 25, according to the Texas Tribune.

The law allows clergy members to refuse to conduct marriages that violate their beliefs; The bill gives ministers the freedom to exercise their First Amendment rights.

Joining Standing at Freedom’s Gate host Kevin Fobbs to discuss CAAP’s civil disobedience actions against the gay marriage ruling and a new Christian civil rights movement will be Rev. Bill Owens, president of the Coalition of African-American Pastors.
