Meet Stephen Fried, an award-winning investigative journalist and personal essayist. He is the author of three widely praised investigative books - Thing of Beauty: The Tragedy of Supermodel Gia; Bitter Pills: Inside the Hazardous World of Legal Drugs; The New Rabbi - and an essay collection, Husbandry: Sex Love & Dirty Laundry-Inside the Minds of Married Men. A two-time winner of the National Magazine Award, Fried has written frequently for Vanity Fair, Glamour, The Washington Post Magazine, GQ, Rolling Stone, Ladies Home Journal and Philadelphia magazine, where he was also editor-in-chief. An adjunct professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism since 2002, he lives in Philadelphia with his wife, author Diane Ayres. And, yes, he did invent the word fashionista.
