I'm Mad too Eddie was a popular phrase coined by Harrell Edmonds "Eddie" Chiles, founder of the Western Oil Company and an owner of the Texas Rangers.  People were angry because of the oil shortage and the recession that plagued the country.  While we were having tight money problems, Japan and other countries were thriving!
