I love honey bees. I love honey. I love to eat. And I'm a beekeeper who used natural methods and top bar hives to keep my bees. I also left the majority of the honey made in each colony for that colony's food reserves rather than feeding them sugar syrup, which also weakens bees just as the use of sugar in our diets weaken people.

Honey bees make a largely unseen contribution to the food system of land-based animals. Beside the extraordinary plant beauty and the miraculous benefits of honey, the work honey bees do results in fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and berries that feed humans, small mammals, and birds. Pesticides are now clearly understood as part of the reason honey bees are dying off -- numbers in steady decilne since 2009.

Neonicotinoids are like DDT in that they are just as much a cause of environmental devastation and loss of biodiversity.

Neonicotinoids are linked to damage in birds and aquatic life and DNA damage and cell mutation in human beings.

In this episode we're going to look at geo-engineering aerosol sprays and how they are potentially harmful to honey bees and humans alike.
