Has anyone ever talked to you about how to write down bar lines?  Bar lines---Are they horizontal or vertical?  And, does time have a signature or signatures?  What does it all mean, you ask?  Tune in to the next CMajor Radio Show to find out.  CMajor is excited to speak with you about something that goes along with and beyond listening.  Becoming an active writer of music is an important part of learning to practice music theory.  You will get to move from simply looking at time values on a page to actively organizing them by writing them down in a way that works.  Did you write the right number of time values in the right place separated by the right type of bar line.  Was your writing clear?  If you are sharing your music with other people online, you may need to know how to use notation software to share your ideas clearly.  You can also practice writing down music on traditional manuscript paper.  Did the time signature or time signatures that you chose work for your piece of music?  Did you clearly convey the way that you are trying to hear the music played on your instrument?  Can these sounds be improved?  We'll talk about all of this and more on the next CMajor Radio Show.  See you then!
