Annandale, VA – A coach is an objective observer. It’s not about dictating a course of action, but rather helping individuals identify what they want to do and how they want to do it. Any time a person can design their own course of action, the chances for success multiply exponentially.

Neal Henderson is the founder and president of FrontRow Performance Coaching, a boutique strategic management and premier, performance improvement consulting firm. FrontRow Performance Coaching helps individuals and organizations get to a place of “play,” but more importantly improving their play.

“My metaphor for working with people is that everything we do together is a team event,” says Henderson. “As you go through life, as a business or an individual, you’re always looking to improve. ‘Play’ is a much better word than ‘work.’ ‘Work’ implies drudgery. It’s something I’ve got to do. ‘Play’ says it can be fun, it’s my passion, my life’s purpose."

Henderson believes a company’s success depends as much upon the quality of its employees as it does on its products and services. Winning teams depend upon people who support each other, and work together toward a common goal.

“The first person you lead is yourself. So how do you understand yourself? How do you communicate? Then you can start looking at how people are communicating with you,” says Henderson. “When I look back, my life’s purpose is about been helping people. So I’m most proud of the success of the folks who have worked for me or I have coached. The joy in their faces makes my day.”
