Writing was not San Antonio teacher Emily Mims’ first love-in fact, she wrote her firstnovel on a dare. 
After reading a book that "was just terrible", her husband dared her to do better. 
So she did.

Now, this retired teacher is the author of over twenty books and three different series including her Hill Country Series and Smokey Mountain Series. 

She lives in Texas with her husband of forty plus years and their dogs. 

Her most recent release, Rescued, is an eight author anthology about rescue dogs. Proceeds go to Project Freedom Ride, an organization that flies dogs from kill-shelters to their forever homes.
