Middleburg: Greta Gerwig Talks LADY BIRD, Her Directing Influences, And More

I've been busy the last couple of weeks but it hasn't been for nothin'. Last weekend I attended the Middleburg Film Festival for the fifth time in its five-year history, and spent time chatting with Greta Gerwig about her directorial debut, LADY BIRD, starring Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf. The semi-autobiographical film follows a Sacramento girl as she prepares for college and leaving the nest, while dealing with a complicated relationship with her mother.
