Hi, my name is Carl Mathis and I am a Motivational Author/Speaker. I dedicate my life to helping people achieve their dreams through the word of GOD. When I lost my wife through death in December 2005, I was faced with the challenges of raising three boys as a single parent, and at the same time coping with the loss of my mate. During this time, I dealt with many emotions, how can I be a father and mother to my children, how do I deal with the grief of losing my wife. I was faced with many difficulties. There were times when life brought enjoyment, and other times when life was so challenging that I wanted to give up and quit. During the difficult and unbearable moments, I made up in my mind to do something about it. I was not going to let this unfortunate situation take over me. I decided to use this terrible and devastating situation as a platform to rebuild my life. I realized that life is what you make it. I spent many nights crying out to GOD for a strategy to overcome my situation. The strategy I got was, while I am going through my difficulties, share it with others, help them to overcome and at the same time I would overcome. My struggle has taught me that life is not a sprint race, or a hop skip and a jump but that life is more like the seasons. Each season gives you different occurrence. The winter would give you snow and cold. The summer would give you sun and rain. The spring gives you a mild and a gentle breeze, while the fall deals mostly with the leaves on the trees. There is one thing that all the seasons have in common; it is guaranteed to come around repeatedly and again, until the end of time. That is how life is. Therefore, don’t get bent out of shape about a little obstacle that occurs in your life. Your season will come around again. When it does, remember this “LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!”
