Consent Decrees in Wyoming Juvenile Court Proceedings

Shawnna Herron, J.D., with the Wyoming Attorney General's Office will provide an overview of the Wyoming statutes related to consent decrees in juvenile court proceedings (abuse and neglect, Child In Need of Supervision (CHINs) and delinquencies). Consent decree practice tips, timelines and pitfalls will be discussed. The presentation will include information about three recent Wyoming Supreme Court cases involving consent decrees: 

• In re CDR, 351 P 3d 264, 2015 WY79 (May, 2015);
• In re CRA, 368 P.3d 294, 2016 WY 24 (February, 2016); and
• In re DJS-Y, 394 P. 3d 467, 2017 WY 54 (May, 2017).
