Valencia Jordan is the Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Tennessee State University. Her administrative duties include oversight of the volleyball, Men’s and Women’s golf, softball, Sports Medicine and track and field programs. She is also Advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Title IX Coordinator for Athletics.  

A native of Nashville, Jordan attended Hillsboro High, where she was a multi-sport athlete, playing volleyball and basketball. She played basketball at Austin Peay State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in health and psychology in 1986. Jordan earned her master's degree in health and physical education from Tennessee State.

In 2007, Jordan was awarded the Woman of Achievement Award by the Women in Higher Education in Tennessee Conference and was also named SWA of the Year by the All-American Football Foundation.

Jordan served on the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Rules Committee from 2012-2016.  She was named to the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics in 2018 and this past summer named to the NCAA Woman of the Year Committee. In addition to the NCAA Committees, Jordan serves on the Ohio Valley Conference, Competition Cabinet, the COVID-19 Working Group and the Social Justice Working Group.
