Jovan Overshown is Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. She joined Baylor Athletics as Associate AD for Engagement in 2017 after directing internal and external communications at The King’s University.

She oversees all aspects of the department’s external operations, including Resource Development, Strategic Marketing and Fan Engagement, Branding and Creative Services, Athletics Communications and BaylorVision.

In 2018, she was promoted to Senior Associate AD for Branding and Engagement. She was promoted to her current role in 2019.

Overshown spearheaded Baylor University’s United campaign that was unveiled in 2019. The Baylor x NIKE brand evolution refined and refreshed the existing Baylor Athletics brand elements while honoring a longstanding tradition of excellence. 

Overshown earned a bachelor of business administration in marketing from Texas Christian University in 2006 and a master of business administration in marketing communications from Tarleton State University in 2009. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership conflict management from Abilene Christian University.
