Alabama - "We need a Dr. King Now!"

Yes, we need a Dr. King or you!

This week we explore current inhumane conditions and treatment of inmates in the Ozark Alabama Jail system.  In the latter half of the program, we will talk with Hilda Broady who is trying to make certain that her family member receives proper medical attention and treatment in the Alabama penal system.  Ms. Broady has reached out to numerous Civil and Human Rights organization but none are able or willing to help.  Now, we turn to you.

To set the stage and confirm our need to continue our struggle, we begin this program with historical facts about laws and the treatment of a people amid those laws.  Whether it is the year 1960 or 2013, Alabama, Georgia or New York, we find ourselves in this "the more things change - the more they remain the same" paradox.

Our goals are to save lives and empower people by raising their levels of consciousness!  We must realize that whether or not our Struggle Continues, those cycles of oppression - discrimination- and racism, has and will!  We have the power to replace self-destruction with self-determination -- so let's do it!
