This week we engage in one of those "difficult" dialog:  skin complexion.  The origins of this program lie in the concerns of a young listener of "The Struggle Continues" about trying to avoid having "dark skin."   This issue is not new to our people or the struggle and was often referred to as "color struck," wherein skin complexion directly impacted life conditions. Case in point, consider the historical concepts and ramifications of the "house and field Negroes."

As we sift through this program, we maintain our exploratory and non-judgmental approach, providing facts and information and allowing each person to formulate their conclusion.  This will be tough but necessary segment because our youth and many people find themselves in this identity crisis.  There exist a great quote, "you have to know who you are to get where you're going," and in keeping with that, let's help and encourage one another to learn and discover ways to be comfortable and "conscious" in the skin that they're in!

This is Bones X, signing off; Check-Mate.
