Woody Bavota was born in 1955 with Poland Syndrome. He found out the name of his condition in 2006 by happenstance in an airport. Woody was approached by a gentleman who asked him if his hand was a birth defect, he acknowledged that it was, then he asked if he was missing a pectoral muscle and Woody just about fell to the ground. Woody was then told that he most likely had Poland Syndrome and this began Woody’s quest to find out more. The Poland Syndrome documentary is to be the culmination of medical findings, stories of adult’s life long struggles and triumphs, children and the parents of children with Poland Syndrome.
