A CONVERSATION IS NEEDED! JOIN US, AS WE RESPOND TO WHAT IS BEING CALLED THE VENUS HOTTENTOT CAKE, THE BLACK FACE CAKE, THE RACIST CAKE, THE MISOGYNISTIC CAKE AND GIVE AND GET REACTIONS FROM BLACK WOMEN ACROSS THE AFRICAN DIASPORA.

We'll talk about the history behind the the exploitation of "Sara Baartman", the political and social use of such specific representations of blackness and black female sexuality had and continues to have on Black communities everywhere. We will also discuss the issue of internalized racism as well as the concept of responsiblity, and accountability on the part of artists towards their audiences and subjects.
