Leaders aint street signs

For over a century, the power brokers of America have annointed the so-called leaders of Africans in America. From Booker T. Washington up to Beyonce, their is a tendency to let the dominant media outlets decide who is the official leader and spokesman for Black America. But how do we recognize a true leader? Steet signs tell you where to go. Leaders go there, and leave a trail for you to follow. But more than that, what makes us so convinced we need a leader anyway??? We'll discuss the dynamics of leadership, and followership, and how to get ourselves past the token leaders that take us in scenic route circles right back into subservience.
