Be Real with D-REAL 2-28-2019; Homophobia; Is that even still a thing?

Homophobia. It is described as a prejudice or dislike of homosexuals. Why is phobia in the word? Phobia can describe fear or anxiety. Is that what it truly is? I'm having difficulty understanding WHY people still use this term and a new fancier on hasn't taken its place. Do we continue to use this term because of the impression it creates, or out of habit or even worse just to be cruel?  Join me as I seek to bring enlightenment regarding the term/condition and most importantly, in this day and age of diversty and "embracing ones true self" present the query; WHY is it even still used?
