Amy is a Superior French Cuisine graduate, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa. She is also the owner/operator of Amy Smith’s Kitchen in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Amy first studied at George Brown College, completing a Chef Training Certificate before honing her skills at Le Cordon Bleu with several notable and experienced French Chefs. She has additionally worked in restaurants in Ottawa and Toronto for over twelve years under major leaders in the industry. Amy is an active part of her community, supports locally sourced produce, and for the past three years she has directed cooking demonstrations at Port Credit’s Farmers Market. Amy caters to a strong clientele base and numerous events in her city, specializing in artisan custom catering. Her baked goods are featured weekly at Lowe’s School of Music and are available for purchase at The Guilty Dog Coffee House located in Port Credit. Amy is a public speaker who has given numerous presentations on healthy eating and lifestyle, cooking with kids, and simple gourmet cooking at home. This year at The Mississauga Waterfront Festival, Amy hosted the Culinary Stage for the entire weekend, presenting a wide variety of guests as well as putting on several of her own personal demonstrations and special events. Meanwhile, she also judged the culinary competitions, and performed kid-friendly culinary demonstrations at the festival. Amy is the author of Blow 'Em Away with Gourmet!, available on Amazon.com, and has sold over 1000 copies independently. She is currently working on her second book scheduled for release in 2015.
