Has the American justice system gone crazy? it seems like it. Some folks are walking out free when the general consensus calls for punishment and others going in for punishment for no reason at all. It all seems a little convoluted and unfair, we are all clamoring for a fair system.

And the punishment of the innocent goes even further than prison. It goes to the heart of the American family. The people left behind, the wives and children of these innocent men, left to fend for themselves, with the shame and the pain that comes with having a family member convicted of a crime. Even though they may be innocent, society doesn’t see it with kindness. If you are in prison you are there to suffer, no matter what you did, or why they put you there. Those children missing their fathers, those women having to support the whole family by themselves; they are victims of the unjust system also, even more so, as they still live in society, but with no freedom. They have to put up with the shame of having a convict in the family, a stain on their name.

So we decided to talk about it, to give some of the people that have reasons to call the justice system unfair a voice. Please join us to welcome Ethel Lopez who will be talking about people that have been wrongfully convicted and how it affects their families. She is an activist making a difference, raising awareness and helping families to get justice in this crazy world. We will be chatting with Ethel Tuesday September 3rd at 8 PM PST, and it promises to be a very interesting talk
