Ruth Carlson has been a freelance travel writer for two decades. She primarily covers international luxury destinations, food, wine, fashion and shopping. 

Ruth began writing travel articles when her sister moved to Paris. She used to work in public relations and write part-time but when her husband died three years ago, she began this career full-time and moved from Santa Cruz to San Francisco. That's when she began her travel column for the Bay Area News Group which includes the San Jose Mercury News and the Contra Costa Times. Ruth also freelances for several magazines. 

Ruth loves her job and she's having the time of her life.
