John B. Russwurn was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica
in 1799, and was a pioneer of the first Back to Africa
Movement.  “He soon earned a reputation among
abolitionists’ as an articulate and courageous leader in the
struggle against slavery” (Dr. Joy Lumsden)
