Robert Robinson, lured by high wages to the Soviet Union during the depression was trapped for 44 years. Black on Red, his book documenting his journey is frequently cited in Russian and Black History topics, and in 1991 the BBC produced a documentary on his life entitled “The Reluctant Comrade” Eulogized at Howard University in 1994 as the “Perfect Gentleman” from Jamaica, this will be an interesting topic for this week’s Labrish, brought to us by “Dr. Joy Lumsden”, one of our favorite historians.
