Services provided for Adoption Aftercare Services

  1. Education. Learn about your choice and the road which led you down it.
  2. Self-Care: Take care of yourself oin every area.
  3. Reading:  A number of good books discuss the birth mother experience
  4. Find specialized counseling. Therapy with other birth mothers. Individual counseling can be a means to address the past, to incorporate the past into the present, and to move into the future
  5. Belief System Know, accept and believe that you are a mother to this child
  6. Forgiveness.  Know that you did the very best you could in the position you are in, the previous choices you had made and the circumstances surrounding your choice.  Forgiveness of yourself is paramaount,.
  7. Acceptance.  Find peace in yourself and in your decision.
