Exploring a few extremist Christian groups in the United States and their effect on society as a whole. This will include Jack Chick and his tracks, Jesus Camp Minister Becky Fischer, AFA, CLA, and a few fanatical web sites (time permitting.) Please note the following: a Fundamental Christian is not a fundie or an extremist. A Fundamental Christian embraces fundamental Christian beliefs and biblical teachings to include the parts that speak of peace, love, understanding and everyday practices. They uphold their own convictions without using them to tear others apart. You can see Christ in their actions. A fundie is an intolerant extremist who holds a very narrow-minded view of the world around them. A fundie is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; they regard or treat the members of certain groups (racial, gender, orientation, action) with hatred as well as excessive and obsessive sermonizing (or demonizing, or dehumanizing.) This is a hotbed topic. We ask that callers please refrain from attempting to dominate the airwaves. Please be courteous towards others. The opinions expressed on the Tinker’s Café do not reflect BTR’s opinions. Callers’ opinions are their own.
