Authors on the Air presents NASTY WOMEN JANUARY: FEMALE CRIME FICTION WRITES.  Host Pam Stack welcomes crime series writer Barbara Nickless to the studio.   I was made in Japan, born in Guam, and eventually made my way through various ports of call to Colorado. There, my mother—an English literature teacher—gave me her love of reading by starting me on comic books. Which might explain why I grew up to adore  H. Rider Haggard, E.E. “Doc” Smith, and Shakespeare in equal measure. When I was three, I told my mother that all I wanted was to be a writer. I also wanted to be a sword fighter.  But then a wildfire burned down my family’s home. It was that moment.  Losing everything also meant I had everything to gain. My revitalized resolve to be a writer resulted in the Special Agent Sydney Parnell crime series, starting with the award-winning Blood on the Tracks. Summer 2017 will bring the next book in the series, Dead Stop.http://www.barbaranickless.com/.
