Authors on the Air and host Pam Stack are very excited to welcome to the studio mystery and thriller writer, best-selling author JCarson Black.  This is the launch for "The Survivor's Club", and we're going to give away a copy during today's show.

"When Arizona sheriff's detective Tess McCrae investigates the death of a former homicide cop in the decrepit ghost town of Credo, it looks like another vicious cartel hit. But even as she suspects something larger and more sinister may be at work, another killer remains unseen. And he is stalking her."

"The idea for my thriller THE SURVIVORS CLUB came to me in 2009, when I picked up a news magazine in the library as I waited for a friend. There I saw the obituary of a baseball player named Jack "Lucky" Lohrke. Jack Lohrke cheated death three times, the last one a spectacular bus crash in 1946 that wiped out the San Diego Padres. At a restaurant where the Padres stopped for dinner, Lohrke got word that he'd been traded to another team. He decided then and there to leave the Padres and go join his new team immediately. The bus and his team drove off into the Cascade Mountains and in to history. I was intrigued by the idea that some people seem immune to danger, and will cheat death many times. This was the kernel of the idea for my thriller, THE SURVIVORS CLUB"
