Fear Based Religion -vs- Original Spiritual Message

What is the difference between Spirituality and Religion?

Could it be that the original message that created the religion has suffered over time?

Could the original spiritual message in religous institutions be over shadowed by human interests? 

False judgments, righteousness, as well as fear of differences may displace the spirit of what was intended in the beginning. Why should we fear cleaning the house? What are we afraid of?  

If something is false and it is hidden inside religion, should it remain untouched, un talked about and un challenged?
